Back in Action!
It's been a two year hiatus since I thought I would have time to blog. In that two years I have continued to manage the controlled chaos that forms our life. Lots of worthwhile endeavors, but not much time to reflect. ...Time to remedy that! Today I would like to encourage you to savor the Fall colors that are rapidly disappearing, and make time to connect with people you care about. We are doing that tonight when we gather with neighbors for one last Pink Flamingo party. I learned about this when my friend Jen lived here. You stick a flamingo in the yard and it means the party's at your house on Friday at 7:00. You mow, and provide a welcoming spirit. All who attend bring their own drinks and chairs, and gather to connect. Fall brings fire pits and sometimes moving it inside, but the connecting time can't be beat. Try it out!

Quiet
After looking back over what I wrote for the purpose behind my blogging adventure I thought I had better post something worthwhile today:-) Tonight, after following an impulse, I spent some time on the patio in the darkness just listening to the night sounds and having some peace. A framed picture that hangs in my house states, "Make time for quiet moments as God whispers, and the world is loud." My wish for you is that you capture a quiet moment or two sometime soon.

URL Adventures
Seriously the hardest part of setting up the blog was choosing a URL address that wasn't already taken! My first choice today was "connectingwiththebigguy"-meaning God. Sadly trying to google it yielded semi pornographic and obesity related connections...SOOOO after some time on "help" it is now the current "hanginintheheartland";-) Live and learn!
Kicking it off!
Welcome to my blog!...I intend to use this to share some insights regarding what I am learning on my faith journey, share some favorite sites, recipes, and other tidbits I come across, and look for a way to connect with other as I do this. Glad you could join me!
